USA


SSCT specifies 3 types of cases: Category A/A1 (Direct), Category B/B1 (Non-Direct), and Category C (Non-Contrast).

Case Categories

Category A: DIRECT Contrast Studies

Category ACategory A1
– Physician physically present
– Reviewed contrast CT angiographic images and contrast morphology
– Arrived at diagnosis and performed complete interpretation
– Reviewed interpretation with a Level 2 or 3 trained instructor
– Reviewed contrast CT angiographic images and contrast morphology on video
– Arrived at diagnosis and performed complete interpretation

Category B: Non-DIRECT Contrast Studies

Category BCategory B1
– Interactive manipulation of reconstructed datasets
– Library cases
– Scan acquisition not witnessed
– Independent interpretation compated to expert read
– Review of contrast CT angiographic study from a presentation that includes CT data review and clinical information
– Library cases
– Scan acquisition not witnessed
– Independent interpretation compated to expert read

Category C: Non-Contrast Studies

These may be the same as the contrast cases (A or A1) above with an initial non-contrast component.


Level 2

Level 2 Accrediation requires 250 CCT cases within a 36 month timeframe, with 150 of those being contrast cases.
